| Herbert
is one of our most experienced birds. He was hatched in Kings
Lynn in 1997 and made his first free flight in a howling gale
in front of several hundred spectators at the Police Gala Day
on the Norfolk Show Ground.
Since then (and despite a number of setbacks including a
broken leg) he has performed in many shows, proved to be a
first-rate hunting bird and has given many people their first
taste of falconry and bird handling on courses and hawking
experience days.
With a flying weight of 1lb 8.5oz, he is slightly
larger than Ky and is perfectly capable of taking quarry several
times his own weight!
